Three Pilates-Inspired Core Exercises

These three moves require no equipment and can be done anywhere! All of these exercises focus on toning the core muscles. You can always modify these moves if they are too difficult.

Move #1 - Plank Leg Lift: Situate yourself into a plank position, either on your hands or forearms. Simply raise one leg at a time, holding it in the air for 1-2 seconds. I usually do 10 reps on each side.

Move #2 - Reverse Plank Leg Lift: With your body facing upwards and palms directly behind your body and below your shoulders, lift one leg up for 1-2 seconds. Again, I usually do 10 reps on each side.

Move #3 - Side Plank with Knee: While planking on one side, rotate your bottom knee into your chest as close as you can get it. You can hold this for as long as you feel comfortable- the longer the hold, the more difficult the move becomes.
